Although this pandemic has challenged our community, IT CAN'T BEAT US! Volvo of Edmonton whole-heartily believes in our mission, and is calling the Edmonton community to action. For every dollar we receive, Volvo of Edmonton will match it up to $25,000. We know these are difficult times for many but if you are able to give, please do. All funds donated will go directly to programming and you will receive a full charitable tax receipt. We are confident that together we can reach our goal of $50,000 and hopefully go beyond. We thank you greatly for your consideration and on-going support. For campaign details visit: https://secure.e2rm.com/p2p/event/346422/en-CA

Boot Scootin Boogie Dance Club is incorporated as a Not for Profit under the Society Act. I started our Society 5 years ago this March. I am known for being a dynamic lady with a gigantic heart that shows in my passion for dance, live music and my Community. Although Boot Scootin Boogie is thought to be a Bar, it is not. In fact it is a family friendly venue where for all ages to learn dance and participate in special events of various kinds hosted by a variety of Community members, including Boot Scootin’ Boogie Dance Club. It is a Community Recreation Facility and is available for anyone to rent as well! We support Live Music as one of our namesakes and in honour of the Venue we rent having been the BEST LIVE ENTERTAINMENT VENUE in Alberta for 31 years! COVID has had a negative impact on many businesses and families. We have felt that hit also. Boots doors closed in March 14th, opened on Sept. 25 at 1/4 capacity and only 2-3 days of the week, only to close again Nov. 13th due to COVID mandates. The icing on the cake is that in October a small fire by a third party, who has since been ordered to not return to the premises, closed our kitchen, the only source of income we could have had during COVID. The expenses of re-opening and having to re-ceritfy the kitchen with no income has put additional pressure on this Not for Profit. Unfortunately the commercial stove was not salvageable and now we also have to replace that. In spite of the fire and COVID shut downs, we know there are others in greater need so with the help of others we have decided to help our Community by creating our very own Lunch Kitchen called, “Let's Eat.” It is a Lunch Kitchen providing free meals to those in need. We are starting on Saturdays only but plan to expand this to daily as soon as donations and preparedness permit. If you have been hit hard by COVID, as so many have, we invite you down to join us to donate time, food items or monetary means. With schools closing due to covid many kids that had free meals through the school are left out. We are gravely concerned about this! We are stepping up and they can get the meal at Boot Scootin Boogie every Saturday for now but hopefully soon it will be daily. Our ultimate goal is to have it daily but to do that we need funds to replace the stove and to help supplement the food donation. Your help is appreciated. Anything from $5 to $500 helps greatly!
Share the Holidays with those in need by purchasing tickets for this 50/50 in support of Edmonton’s Food Bank. Your ticket purchase helps ensure we are able to be there for those in need in our community throughout the year. Please note: Employees of Edmonton's Food Bank are not eligible for this 50/50 draw.
